Georgia Mountain Escape

All the sights of the Old Town are very close to each other, so the tour makes for a lovely walk. We will start at Rustaveli Avenue and Liberty Square, walk through Chardin street and continue to the Metekhi Plateau. What follows next is a fascinating cable car ride to the statue of the Mother of Georgia. We will then walk down to the Abanot Ubani - an area renowned for its hammams.

Many years ago, the King of Georgia discovered the sulphur springs while hunting with his eagle and decided to build a city surrounding the springs, which is how Tbilisi was born. And you get to enjoy a private one-hour visit for a lovely soak and scrub, getting pampered beneath the magnificent domed roofs.

Afterwards, you'll have free time to explore the capital further. Perhaps indulge in Tbilisi's lively theatre scene and witness the energetic, acrobatic dance Georgia is known for.

Our first stop is at the fairytale Ananuri Fortress, offering incredible views of the Jinvali Water Reservoir. Listen to the fascinating legends about Eristavi dukes, who controlled the main road connecting Georgia to Russia, and learn about the ancient carvings on the churches - the best-surviving specimens of Georgian art.

After a scenic drive through the Caucasus Mountains, we will reach Gudauri, a prominent ski resort in the winter months, where you will enjoy a nice lunch

Driving down the renowned Georgian Military Highway, which runs through wild gorges, passes and rivers, we reach Kazbegi. After switching vehicles to a 4x4 minivan, we will take the panoramic mountain road to Gergeti Trinity Church, positioned 2170 m above sea level! Just imagine the views and pictures you will take here, with the medieval church overlooking Kazbegi town to one side and the snow-peaked mountains on the other.

Head back to Tbilisi in the evening, just in time to fill your belly with another fantastic meal by Georgia's talented chefs - our guide will be more than happy to recommend where to go for dinner.

Uplistsikhe Cave City is one of the oldest places of settlement in the Caucasus. Overlooking the beautiful Mtkvari Valley, the place started as a simple caves complex carved into the sandstone mountain in 1 BC. By the 9th century, however, it developed into a full-size city complete with shops, chemists, a water supply system, wine cellars, meeting halls and even a theatre. At its peak, it housed over 20,000 people!

On our way out of the cave city, we shall visit a family-run winery where we meet the winemaker himself and taste some delicious local wine, followed by a lovely homemade lunch.

We shall drive to southwestern Georgia and spend the day in Borjomi - a picturesque Spa town nestled in a gorge teeming with tall pine trees. Borjomi is famous for its mineral spring waters, fresh air, and connection to the Royal Family of Romanovs, who turned this gorgeous town into their summer residence in the mid-1800s.

The famous Borjomi Gorge Mineral Water is brought to us due to a climatic phenomenon of the unique ecosystem of the purest glacier water from the Bakuriani mountains. The water is of volcanic origin, over 1,500 years old, and is bottled here and sent to over 40 countries. You will learn about this magical place during our visit to Borjomi’s Mineral Water Park, dating back to 1850.

Admire the beautiful scenery aboard a classic cable car ride up the Borjomi Plateau and Bakuriani mountains, followed by a pleasant walk through the pine woods overlooking the scenic Spa town.
